IKOGOSI WARM AND COLD SPRING

Ikogosi warm spring is located in Ekiti west Local Government area of Ekiti state Nigeria. The spring is surrounded beautifully with natural and rich vegetation.
Flowing alongside the warm spring is a cold spring, converging and maintaining their thermal properties. These attributes make the spring a tourist attraction in Nigeria. Research has it that the warm spring has a temperature of about 70oC at the source and 37oC at the confluence. The springs sprout out and flow with a constant temperature and volume all-year round.
A myth surrounding the origin and discovery of the Warm and Cold Spring is that the warm and cold springs were the two wives of a great hunter. One of his wives was said to be temperamental while the other was a quiet woman. One day, the two wives had a fight and after being rebuked by their husband, the temperamental wife changed to the warm spring while the quiet one turned to the cold spring.
Ikogosi Spring is known for its unique curative power. It is widely-believed to have some kind of therapeutic effect which relieves body aches and all sorts of ailments.
It is definitely a tourist attraction and lots of tourists visiting the place take advantage of the large warm water swimming pool provided for this purpose and other recreational needs.

IITA FOREST RESERVE: The  IITA Forest Reserve  (International Institute of Tropical Agriculture) is a 350 hectares of land established and managed by the Natural Resource management department of the IITA. The IITA Forest Reserve was set up to provide solutions to the degradation and extinction of natural resources in Nigeria. The forest reserve preserves is absolutely beautiful, highly diversified forest reserve which preserves over 200 birds species, over 220 butterfly species and 440 plants used for medicinal purposes.

ERIN IJESHA WATERFALLS

Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls (also known as Olumirin waterfalls) is located in  Erin-Ijesha . It is a tourist attraction located in Oriade local government area,  Osun State , Nigeria. The waterfalls was discovered in 1140 AD by one of the daughters of  Oduduwa . However, according to  The Nation ,"Olumirin waterfall was discovered by hunters in 1140 AD" . Another source has it that the tourist site was discovered by a woman called Akinla, founder of Erin-Ijesha town and a granddaughter of Oduduwa,during the migration of Ife people to Erin- Ijesa. The fall features seven floors, on top of which the village Abake is located. The waterfall is said to have medicinal properties and people came from all over to drink from the waterfall and be healed..
