OPI LAKE COMPLEX

  1. Opi Lake Complex:
Opi Lake Complex is made up of over 7 lakes connected to one another to form a network. These lakes include Ogelube, Eze-agu iyi, Orufu, Nkpo, Ikpa, Uhere and Ozzi.
Uhere River flows in between Eze-agu iyi and Ogelube lakes forming a beautiful sand beach with  crocodiles and several other aquatic species.
Uhere waterfall is believed to help announce the death of people through  intensive and frightening loud sound as it falls.
Ikpa Lake is located south of Eze-agu iyi and Ogelube lakes, forming a breathtaking landscape. Ikpa lake is unique for its religious implication, with the help of a tour guide, tourists can explore the whole of Opi-agu, the headquarters of the communities that these lakes inter-connect.

LITA FOREST RESERVE

IITA FOREST RESERVE: The  IITA Forest Reserve  (International Institute of Tropical Agriculture) is a 350 hectares of land established and managed by the Natural Resource management department of the IITA. The IITA Forest Reserve was set up to provide solutions to the degradation and extinction of natural resources in Nigeria. The forest reserve preserves is absolutely beautiful, highly diversified forest reserve which preserves over 200 birds species, over 220 butterfly species and 440 plants used for medicinal purposes.

ERIN IJESHA WATERFALLS

Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls (also known as Olumirin waterfalls) is located in  Erin-Ijesha . It is a tourist attraction located in Oriade local government area,  Osun State , Nigeria. The waterfalls was discovered in 1140 AD by one of the daughters of  Oduduwa . However, according to  The Nation ,"Olumirin waterfall was discovered by hunters in 1140 AD" . Another source has it that the tourist site was discovered by a woman called Akinla, founder of Erin-Ijesha town and a granddaughter of Oduduwa,during the migration of Ife people to Erin- Ijesa. The fall features seven floors, on top of which the village Abake is located. The waterfall is said to have medicinal properties and people came from all over to drink from the waterfall and be healed..
